After hitting the Billion Dollar Babes Sample Sale (no, I didn't buy anything), we got free admission to the Coffee and Tea Festival right next door. Sounds WAY more exciting than it was. It looked like a real pitiful trade show. Granted it is their second year, but I felt so bad even taking advantage of free samples. I guess I would have felt even more gypped if I paid the $20 admission. We did walk away with a free bag of beans brewed specifically for the event.

Party in the meatpacking district. This place that, according to the PR, took two years to name. Rever. really. that took TWO YEARS. It should have taken them the whole two years to plan this party. There were plenty of bartenders but the snackage sucked as there were WAY too many people in attendance. It is possible to close the guest list. people do it all the time. Instead, you find hundreds of people tackling the poor servers for coconut shrimp, bruschetta, tuna tartare, and basil, mozzarella and tomato skewers.

Flushing Meadows Park was a great choice for a picnic on the second best day of spring. Brought some sandwiches and my laptop to get some work done. It doesn't feel so bad when you are doing it outside in a t-shirt at the park. doesn't feel so much like work.
here's some more shots.

Taste of Chinatown. First nice day of spring and the place was packed. yummy dishes for $1-$2! Gorged myself silly before a nice massage at Ettia. Go Spa Week!
more photos from TofC. (almost looks like Tofu! kind of like that "meat stick" right chops? ;))

Ikon. Luxury condos near the park. Williamsburg. View of the city. If you've got a couple thou to a mil, you too can own a piece of history. The history of how poor people have been driven into the farthest areas of queens and the bronx, due to such construction (which incidentally woke me up many a morning when I lived over on Union). Good luck rich people. I just hope you cherish the view until they build 30-story high towers on the water front.
some more photos.

Freakin' rain. I'm so over it. I NEED sun and warmth and to get out! Marathon of movies: a doc about Jonestown (909 people dead!), Blue Streak, Shanghai Knights, Walk the Line, and other bad TBS movies that blur into one. We headed outside only for food during one of the only lulls that day; perfectly placed at dinner time.
can you believe 6 inches of rain in 12 hours?

Pops and went to the Mets game. Played against the Washington Nationals and got their asses kicked. hard. We had pretty damn good seats, so I took some photos. They look all warm and sunny, but it was chilly-willy for sure. It was the calm before the storm. BONUS! Saw an almost fight go down. I'm sure you heard about Orlando Hernandez and his beanball. ok so there was no fists, but it was still added excitment to the Mets lackluster performance.

No pics today. No pics of the fact that we hit three gallery openings just to find no free drinks and insanely crappy art. WTF? Come on people! get with it!
Just to add more insult, 200 tix for the Klaxons show tonight sold out right before I left the house. ARGH!
Damn superstition.
But I did finally get to add the pics I took on Chopper's camera for the Academy demo. Now with ramp pics! View the whole collection here.

Went to the AIGA opening for Suppa Pop. A whole show about Japanese packaging. How awesome! I wish I could have the whole show in my house.

slacker...
Yea, I haven't posted anything in a while. I blame it completely on this freakin' cold I'm battling. Started feeling the symptoms Sunday morning, then stood in a cold-ass warehouse for hours. So of course I got worse. Now I'm finally getting better.
Prize Fighter Demo all the way in Conn. Never been there. Didn't get to bring the Nikon, so I took "artsy" shots withe the crappy digi I have. Took some shots of the mini ramp with Chops' camera too. Surrender them please!

Congrats Peabody! I hope there's more to come. Here's the rest of my shots.
Then tonight I attended the Methods—thrown party/"screening" for As the Tables Turn": a docu about Rob Swift. I downed a few free PBRs all on my lonesome before shooting this pic and bouncing.
